Scholarships and Bursaries
We believe that qualified students should have every opportunity possible to receive or continue a Sacred Heart education. We offer both scholarships and bursaries to qualified students.Scholarships are based on academic merit and extra-curricular achievement.
Bursary assistance based on demonstrated financial need is available to students at all grade levels. Awards are based on need and are for partial payment of tuition.
We welcome donations to our scholarship and bursary funds which make Sacred Heart School available to students who would otherwise not be able to attend the school.
Scholarships are awarded to students who have attained a high level of academic achievement and who will make a significant contribution to life at Sacred Heart. They have an interest in one or more of the following: music, athletics, environmental issues, student government, and debating. They will also be active in their church community.
Deadline for entrance scholarship applications is: February 25, 2012
Students must meet the regular entrance requirements to be considered for scholarship. An application must include:
- Completed Application form
- Application Form for Sacred Heart High School
- Application Form for Fountain Academy of the Sacred Heart
- Copies of your final report from last year and your most recent report card
- Two letters of recommendation from a teacher or principal (in a sealed envelope)
Scholarships for Sacred Heart High School
The following scholarships are available:- Religious of the Sacred Heart Entrance Scholarships - Substantial awards to students entering Grades 9-12. These scholarships are renewable.
- Patrick Power Entrance Scholarship - A half tuition scholarship is awarded to a Catholic student entering Grade 11 or Grade 12. This scholarship is renewable. There is only one recipient of this scholarship in the school at a time.
- Two Hundredth Anniversary Scholarship - A (half-tuition) renewable, awarded annually to two current students entering Grade 10.
- A number of renewable scholarships will be awarded to new students entering Grades 7-12.
- All scholarships are not awarded every year. Students who receive scholarships may also apply for additional financial assistance on the basis of need.
Scholarships for Fountain Academy of the Sacred Heart
The following scholarships are available:- Religious of the Sacred Heart Entrance Scholarships - Substantial awards to students entering Grades 9-12. These scholarships are renewable.
- McManus Entrance Scholarship - A half tuition, renewable scholarship awarded to a student entering Grades 11 or 12. There is only one recipient of this scholarship in the school at a time.
- 160th Anniversary Scholarship - A half tuition, renewable scholarship awarded to a current student entering Grade 10.
- A number of renewable scholarships will be awarded to new students entering Grades 7-12.
- All scholarships are not awarded every year. Students who receive scholarships may also apply for additional financial assistance on the basis of need.
