- Students applying for admission to the Junior Primary Programme must have their fourth birthday on or before December 31st of their Junior Primary year.
- Students applying for admission to the Senior Primary programme are required to have attained their fifth birthday in December of their Senior Primary year.
- The school welcomes students from all ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds. Applicants to the school are made aware that the religious education reflects the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and that all students are required to take part in religious education. Religious education at Sacred Heart School of Halifax encourages awareness, understanding and tolerance of other faiths and religions.
- Sacred Heart School of Halifax is an independent school. Annual tuition fees are a condition of attendance at the school. Students with outstanding accounts from a previous school year will not be admitted to the school in the next school year unless the account is paid.
- Successful applicants may apply for financial assistance. The school provides limited funds to students who would not otherwise be able to attend the school. Applicants for financial assistance must demonstrate both need and willingness to contribute positively to the school.
- Once accepted into the school a student is expected to observe the school's behavioural standards and meet the academic requirements at grade level.
